Tom McCanless, PE
President
Tom is a licensed professional engineer (PE) with over 30 years of experience in the civil engineering and construction fields. Tom worked as an engineering consulting for several firms before founding Civil Insights in 2009. Throughout his career Tom has had the opportunity to work in all aspects of commercial and residential planning and design including site development, erosion control, utility layout, water and sewer modeling, and hydrology studies. As President, Tom utilizes his civil engineering design experience and construction knowledge together with his strong networking and communication skills to ensure a complete and successful project for both the developer and community.
Tom received his Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 1995. He currently lives in Georgia with his wife, Rachel, and has three children. Outisde the office, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, trout fishing, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.
